According to government reports, Maharashtra and Rajasthan lead the country with 157 cases registered. OTP Frauds Dominate: 

Telangana Takes the Lead

Telangana has seen a significant spike in cases related to OTP-based fraud, with 2179 cases reported in 2022. Odisha and Maharashtra trail behind with 201 and 195 cases, respectively. Ten states have reported more cases of OTP fraud compared to other cybercrimes.

Telangana Records the Highest Cases

Online banking fraud has become a major concern nationwide, with Telangana reporting the highest number of cases at 3223 out of the total 6491 cases recorded across the country. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Delhi, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh follow suit with reported cases.

Credit Card Frauds: 

Bihar Tops the Charts

Credit card and debit card frauds are most prevalent in Bihar, where 562 cases have been registered out of a total of 1665 cases in the country. Telangana follows closely with 535 cases, making it a significant concern.

Cyber Blackmailing: 

Telangana Leads, Followed by Maharashtra and Assam

Among various cybercrimes, cyber blackmailing has seen a significant rise, with Telangana topping the list at 234 cases. Maharashtra, Assam, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab also report notable cases in this category.

ATM Frauds: 

Bihar Reports the Highest Number

ATM frauds have affected 1690 individuals across the country in 2022, with Bihar leading the tally at 638 cases. Telangana and Maharashtra follow closely with 624 and 144 cases, respectively.

Maharashtra at the Forefront

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases of cyberstalking and online data theft. The state recorded 581 cases of cyberstalking and 43 cases of data theft. Telangana follows closely, securing the second position with 280 cases of cyberstalking and 32 cases of data theft.
